The Lightning Ridge Neighbourhood Centre is community
based and auspiced by the Yawarra Meamei Women’s
group Inc., governed by a community management
committee and funded by the NSW Department of
Community Services.
The Lightning Ridge Neighbourhood Centre serves
the towns of Lightning Ridge, Goodooga, Cumborah
and Angledool as well as various opal fields including
Grawin, Glengarry, Sheepyards and Coocoran. |
The
Lightning Ridge Neighbourhood Centre aims to: |

Provide
affirmative action for disadvantaged people
Provide information and advocacy support to
individuals and groups
Refer consumers to other services and sources
of assistance as appropriate
Provide information in plain language
Develop relevant information systems appropriate
to the local community
Facilitate
local networking.
