Parkes Neighbourhood & Community Information Centre
has been operative since 1977 and has become an integral
part of Parkes Community.
This
is a Community based centre where members of the community
can get together for friendship, action on community issues,
exchange of information and mutual support.
It belongs
to the Community and we are open to ideas and information.

Family
Support Service
Family Support is a service which provides practical and emotional
support to families who are experiencing difficulties.

Forbes Community Transport
Community Transport service is for the frail aged and disabled,
people with severe or profound disabilities, younger disabled
and their Carers. The service is also available to people who
are disadvantaged by health, physical, social, geographical or
financial circumstances. Transport is available locally and distance
travel is available for medical appointments.

Forbes Social Support
This scheme assists with needs to maintain frail aged or younger
people with disabilities to continue to live in their own homes.

Home Modification & Maintenance Service
This service is for people with disabilities, frail aged and their
Carers. The services specialise in home modification, maintenance
and information on building related matters.

Sources information and makes referrals for Indigenous Australians
in our community, to services that are appropriate to them.

House
Bound Library
Volunteers supply books from the local library to frail aged and
disabled persons in their homes. A social morning tea is held
monthly at the library with transport available by pre-booking
at the Neighbourhood Centre.

Kiosk for Seniors
Offers the free use of a computer to Seniors to surf the internet
or access emails

Community
Visitors Scheme
Community Visitors Scheme is a one on one visiting service for
residents in nursing homes and hostels.

Meals
on Wheels
Food Services for the frail aged, younger people with disabilities
and their Carers. It aims to enhance their independance at home
by providing a variety of meals and food services in order to
meet people's individual needs.

Care Service
